"Unlegible" - Shortie

She was glad he could not read. But that was only words on a page. Body cues were a whole other thing, thus Beth sat, face placid, posture straight, and aimed to keep from shaking, or from creating an obvious anxious crease on the page between her thumb and index finger where she timidly held the letter.

Their daughter was playing nearby, singing to herself softly as Beth's husband sat beside his wife, watching his little girl without a care in the world, and he wasn't the least involved with what his well-educated wife was reading. That letter made no difference to him. 

But it made all the difference to her....

  1. I was looking through my posts and realized I never actually finished this story! There will probably be more written on this later- I just don't have an ending in sight, and continuing this is not in my line of vision currently.
